Expressive Landscape Workshop

from £95.00

Saturday 27th September / Sunday 28th September [option to attend 1 or both days].

Bookings must be made through the National Trust website [awaiting link.] Participants DO NOT need to be National Trust members and the entry fee is waived for the duration of the workshop.

A fun and informative 1 or 2 day workshop in which I will be demonstrating my expressive approach to landscape painting using Acrylic paints and mediums. The workshop will cover various techniques and processes and focus on creating landscape paintings, full of layers, texture and depth.

Participants will be encouraged to loosen up and become more confident in their painting, focusing on developing your own individual voice and style.

Due to the small group size you will receive personalised support, experiment with various tools and materials, and learn how to incorporate mediums and additives to achieve a variety of marks and surface finishes. The workshop will also cover elements of composition, tone, complimentary colour palettes and consideration of edges alongside a deeper dive into other painting techniques and processes on the second day.

It will also include plenty of tutor demonstrations, time for exploring ideas and opportunity for 1:1 feedback.

Experience

No prior experience of acrylic painting is needed, just a willingness to explore and experiment through some focussed exercises and developing a painting [or more than 1].

Location

The workshop will take place at the historic National Trust site at Buckland Abbey, a beautiful venue in the heart of the Dartmoor landscape. A lovely National Trust cafe offers a selection of hot and cold meals and snacks so no need to bring your own lunch if you don’t wish to!
